Job Description

Trucking/ Custom Clearance Operations 

  • Receive quotations requests (Trucking & Custom Clearance) from the sales department/ Ocean Freight Operations 
  • Contact trucking/ customer clearance suppliers in order to select the best quotation according to the average market price rates
  • Respond to the sales department with quotations alternatives in timely manner
  • Provide the required trucks on timely manner according to the customer’s request 
  • Manage the process and delivery of cargo transported by Vessels.
  • Monitor trucking conditions, delivery status and customer concerns 
  • Follow up with trucking customers regarding outstanding payments

Customer Focus

  • Achieve sales budget allocated to the inland trucking business line
  • Interface with customers, drivers and other stakeholders daily to assure resolution of unforeseen operational issues s
  • Maintain strong relationships with trucking vendors and clearing agents as well as clients served to facilitate business operations
  • Self-manage various administrative aspects including expense reporting in accordance with company’s budget.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze the operations processes and coordinates with sales and customer service departments to maximize the number of jobs being handled.
  • Create cargo on hand trucking reports and transmission of such reports to customer service to keep them advised of the shipment positioning and overall status

Job Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience in the Trucking field/ Logistics, 
  • Make good and timely decisions, provide excellent Customer Service skills; likes or in stressful situations & work across departmental lines with other areas such as Warehouse Operations.
  • Carrier Customer Service departments and equipment management departments
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferably in Transport/Logistics Management  
  • Certificate or Diploma in Project Management is a plus
  • Master’s in business administration is a plus
  • Strong decision-making capability
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Excellent Negotiation skills
  • Multitasking and able to handle stressful situations
  • Can work across departmental lines with other areas such as Warehouse Operations 
  • Excellent in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint 
  • Very familiar with Sales ERPs
  • Very good combination of good interpersonal and communications/presentation skills
