Job Description
- Installing and upgrading UNIX/ Linux system software on company servers and computers.
- Creating UNIX/ Linux file systems.
- Setting up and maintaining UNIX user accounts and access management systems.
- Implementing network and computer system policies.
- Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
- Responding to user requests and software errors.
- Monitoring the performance of the system and server.
- Creating backup and recovery policies.
- Setting up and monitoring security policies.
- Applying patches and upgrades when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field. Can be substituted with 3 years of relevant or experience.
- Preferred Experience 1-2 years as Unix systems administrator.
- Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting methods.
- Experience with Solaris and Linux Operating Systems to include the build,
maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as addressing, service requests, routine sever maintenance (firmware, failures, hardening, etc.), and server consolidation - Experience with UNIX/Linux, Sun Solaris 11 (UNIX), Red Hat, CentOS (Linux)
or any other closely aligned Operating System. - Virtualization experience preferred
