Compact is seeking full-time emerging professional Product Design Engineer to join our office in New Cairo. We are looking for team players who are excited about working in an innovation-rich construction environment focused on introducing novel approaches to construction.
What Does This Role Involve?
Responsible for designing and detailing parts, components, complete mechanical, hydraulic and electrical assemblies, weldments, formed and fabricated. This includes producing accurate drawings / 3D modeling in a timely fashion that facilitate effective manufacturing.
- Collect design requirements and sketch out ideas.
- Convert product design concepts or ideas into fully specified and engineered product design drawings ready for their metalwork manufacture and fabrication.
- Design large-scale assembly and fabrication drawings using SolidWorks/Inventor.
- Design machined, formed, and fabricated component drawings.
- Design hydraulic, or pneumatic schematics and systems.
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and related data to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
- Determine the manufacturing and materials requirements will be needed to produce the product.
- Develop the manufacturing processes and the necessary supply chain.
- Confer with engineering personnel and prepare design modifications as required.
- Calculate production costs and evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Conduct tests and analyze data generated from builds and lab experiments.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
What Are We Looking for in a Candidate?
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Solid modeling and drafting experience (AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks/ Inventor / 3D Modeling)
- Strong knowledge in structural design and Finite Element Analysis for product analysis and metal forming.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of product engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing/metal fabrication environment preferred.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Problem analysis and problem resolution.
- Able to work with little guidance.
- Consults with manufacturing on ways of improving product lines under their responsibility.
