Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HR Generalist to join our dynamic team at CUBIC. The ideal candidate will have experience in human resources functions within a contracting or construction company, possessing a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of this sector. The HR Generalist will be responsible for various HR activities, contributing to the development and implementation of HR strategies to support our company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and creates the Human Resources Department
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates for various roles within the organization.
  • Interviews job applicants: reviews resumes/applications for all applicants; evaluates applicant’s skills and makes recommendations regarding applicant’s qualifications.
  • Conducts the recruiting planning meetings when needed staff is identified.
  • Serves on employee selection committees.

 

  • Participates in the development of policy and documentation.
  • Development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Maintains employee-related databases. 
  • Maintains records on sick leave, vacation and other absences.
  • Conducts orientation sessions for new employees to explain personnel policies, compensation and benefits programs.
  • Assists managers with the selection and contracting of external training programs and consultants.
  • Assists with processing payroll. Partners with finance to maintain the payroll database.
  • Assists with the implementation of company safety and health programs.
  • Assist employees with any claim issues.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 3+ years' of experience working in Human Resources
  • Proven work experience as HR Generalist in a contracting or construction company, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry-specific HR practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
