Job Description
Senior Reservoir Engineer
- Fluid properties: Analyze the properties of the different fluids
present in a reservoir. Characterize reservoirs based on their compositions. Determine/validate PVT properties; verify with correlations. Perform evaluation, analysis and modeling of reservoir data to confirm hydrocarbon-in-place and reserves estimates, and develop options to maximize asset value. - Reservoir properties: Determine reservoir properties –
permeability (including anisotropy and permeability variation), porosity, and compressibility using laboratory methods and empirical correlations.
Fluid flow: Understand the various concepts of fluid flow in porous
media to describe the pressure transient response in a reservoir. - Well testing: Perform test design and analysis to determine reservoir parameters (permeability, skin, radius of investigation and reservoir boundaries). Calculate flowing and static BHP from surface pressure for oil and gas wells. Calculate average pressure from isobar maps and determine reservoirs pressure datum. Determine reservoir temperature from regional geothermal gradient or direct measurement and understand use and limitations of down-hole pressure tools such as RFT.
- Determine the representative range and mean values for the various volumetric input parameters such as drainage area, net pay, porosity, and fluid saturations.
- Oil and gas reserves estimation: Evaluate and apply various
methodologies for estimating reserves such as volumetrics, material balance analysis, decline curve analysis, analogs, or simulation. Apply both deterministic and probabilistic reserve computation methods. - Reservoir modeling: Perform prediction cases and sensitivity
analyses on key reservoir parameters. Analyze different reservoir management strategies. Predict future reservoir performance to be integrated with costs for annual business cycle.
Integrated reservoir characterization: Gather, review, classify
and validate the multidisciplinary information required for conducting integrated reservoir studies. - Conduct reservoir surveillance.
- Reservoir management: Apply multi-disciplinary evaluation
methods to characterize mature reservoirs. Institute cost- containment innovations to optimize the economic recovery for the remaining resources. Monitor reservoir performance and evaluate
production data and completion effectiveness from single or multiple wells using analytical models. - Interface: Work with members of the WASCO Joint Venture team
and coordinate effectively to deliver the set objectives. - Ethics & Compliance: Perform duties in full compliance with DG Compliance and Ethics policy, leading by example.
HSSE: Meet HSSE responsibilities as stated in the Company's
HSSE policies & related documentation and communications.
