Job Description

  • Researching and identifying prospective suppliers.
  • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers.
  • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor stock levels and verify purchase requisitions.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all key suppliers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices.
  • Reviews markets, price & delivery conditions, and trends to determine present and future materials availability.
  • Initiates requests for quotations against queries / requests received from users.
  • Receives and evaluates quotations, forwards to users.
  • Processes and releases Purchase orders on approved / specified vendors.
  • Make sure that purchasing documents are completed properly and the terms and conditions of purchase are appropriate.
  • Ensure regular and effective follow up of open orders
  • Follows policies and procedures established by the Manager and monitors activates of purchasing clerks
  • Processes purchase order claims and contracts as per company policy.
  • Reviews weekly inventory trends and discussion variations with user staff.
  • Contacts suppliers / vendors when variations arise in delivery, quality , price , or conditions of sale.
  • Liaises between suppliers / Manufactures and relevant internal departments.
  • Keeps accurate records of price histories and problems in doing business with particular vendors.
  • Purchase follows departmental quid lines and selects vendors on the basis of price, capability, and past performance.
  • Purchase negotiates prices, discounts , credit terms and delivery etc.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of the work force and maintain staffing levels based on company standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree is a must.
  • 5-7  years of experience as local purchasing specialist (Manufacturing sector is preferred).
  • Additional certification in the field of procurement is a plus.
  • Good in English.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Very Good in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good Knowledge of ERP system.
