Senior Concept Designer

Responsible for translating client’s needs, preferences & general mood into a tailored concept design and presenting a fulfilling proposal that guarantees finalization of deals.

• Receives Technical package from Interior Designer (or client in some cases) in terms of area, HVAC, furniture, … etc
• Determines missing information (if applicable) and requests the information from the designer/ client.
• Gathers information about the clients (budget, pace, or time constraints) from Business development
• Informs client if there are missing items that are essential to proceed with the design and holds the design (after confirming with Lead Designer) accordingly.
• Reviews the mood boards, real site shots, and project plans, start sketching concept design based on the look and feel of the place and what would be most appropriate to light such space.
• Sets for a meeting with the lead designer to present the sketch and to finalize the concept design.
• Turns the Concept sketch into a lighting design after the approval of the Lead Designer
• Assures the available products are put inappropriate use according to the lighting concept design based on functionality (specifications, size, lighting intensity…etc)
• Prepares the Project “Legend” that include all specifications, description, and quantities of products.

• Starts preparing the “quotation” as per the legend and approved concept design.
• Uses the pricing system of the supplier for continuously used products and acquires the prices of special-order products from suppliers’ price list.
• Aligns and consults with Interior Designers concerning the concept design (especially ones with continuous relationships) and makes adjustments if needed.
• Requests from Influential Sales Manager to prepare a selection for suitable influential items ( as per concept design) and incorporates in the quotation the approved items.
• Incorporates the design, quotation, shots, or renders in the client’s presentation (videos could be used in some cases).
• Presents to the client solely or with the assistance of the Lead Designer in some cases (especially if new Interior designer)
• Fills “Presentation Insights” form sent to all concerned parties and sends a post-meeting email to the customer mentioning agreed-upon way forward (including the presentation & Summary quotation)
• Receives feedback from the client and applies adjustments/ amendments accordingly that may include value engineering to cut cost as per budget (in some cases the presentation is sent to clients to think it up)
• Sends “Bill of Quantities” of accepted Items to Supply Chain for planning and ordering.
• Informs Business Development Director of approved quotation for contract preparation.
• Sends a handing-over internal memo with all project details, flagging any red flags, special items, terms, and quotations to Project Management/ Business Development.
• Coordinates continuously with the site engineer if there are problems or changes that would require adjustments in the quotation or issuing a new additional quotation.
• Receives actual data about “As-Built” from an interior designer or site engineer, adjust quotation, and place order through logistics.
• Updates Sales Tracking Sheet throughout the course of concept design and proposal preparations of business lead status.
