Job Description
- Provide financial support and analysis on regional results, forecasts and plans. Timely compilation of reporting and analysis to assist business leaders in making informed decisions. Collaborate with other functions to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data. Ensure reported results, forecasts and plans are accurate and variance communicated and understood.
- Provides accurate and timely reporting of actual performance versus forecast and budget to management team. Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports, presenting findings, analyses and recommendations. Performs special projects and analysis as directed. Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Develop, implement, and maintain construction management system, including setting up projects, budgets, job costs, cost codes, contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and various construction progress reports.
- Analyze and review construction status with Project/Construction Managers. Direct and participate in cost analyses.
- Prepare/gather materials related to construction and cost accounting matters for internal and external auditors.
- Coordinate/interface with cost accounting system software provider.
- Maintain work in process schedules and managing accuracy of the sub-ledgers.
- Analyzing job costs, working with operational team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Performs the month end general accounting close for supported entities. Prepares complex journal entries. Includes review of account reconciliations for all appropriate balance sheet accounts.
- Determines and improves financial status by comparing and analysing plans and forecasts with actual results including payroll, journal transfers, cash received sheets and various recharges.
- Review and analyse regional financial results and identify areas for improvement
- Assist in all Financial Planning activities with respect to monthly 18-month rolling forecast and Mid-Term plan.
- Analyse financial plan data to identify potential risks/opportunities and present findings along with proposed actions to senior management for review and decision making.
- Assist in the development of risk maps and functional plans
- Analyse complex financial scenarios to provide detailed insight into business drivers and potential value creation opportunities; this may require gathering and interpreting of marketing and logistics.
- Represent finance on cross functional/regional projects and initiatives
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly reports to management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, Accountancy or Finance
- Relevant experience.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills.
- Self-starting, flexible and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks/assignments within specified deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
- Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, as well as internal and external customers
- Effective planning and organizational skills (balancing multiple tasks and assignments within specified deadlines including ability to articulate project status to supervisor, other team members and customers)
- Previous Financial Analysis experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Previous experience in Aggregates & Construction materials environment advantageous
- Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
