Job Description
An Application Specialist is needed in all sectors in the Organization that use software systems. They may alter existing software, install new software and troubleshoot any problems related to performance of computer systems. Application Specialists are expected to be expert in several computer programs and data interfaces.
The Application Specialist support and troubleshoot software, typically working with both end users and developers. The application specialist job description includes helping troubleshoot issues, analyzing systems, auditing, verifying data, testing and evaluating.
- Maintain and operate the Students Information System (Power Campus) and other packages.
- Prepare any customized reports for the business users.
- Support the academic staff, Administrators, and students for any related application issues.
- Responsible of the University web page and update the content as requested.
- Customize/Develop any required application.
- Focal point between Power Campus support team and the University team.
- Responsible for the University ePayment gateway.
- Respond to requests for IT support.
- Debug software and fix other technical issues.
- Troubleshoot issues with the customer’s software or hardware.
- Log all requests and solutions.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in Software engineering, application programming, computer information systems.
- 5+ years relevant work experience preferably in education services.
- Able to speak and write fluently in English and Arabic.
- Adept customer service background
- Proven skills in system administration for multiple platforms.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library Foundation Certificate (ITIL) is preferred.
- Develop and maintain technical skills through participation in on-the-job training and recommended training classes. Be able to assist junior team members.
- Experience with database management and project management.
- The ability to remain up to date with the latest software developments.
- Strong leadership, management, and customer service skills.
- Great analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- The ability to handle stressful situations.
