System Administrator Job Description

  • Our System Backup Administrator is a key position in maintaining client data integrity. Taking escalations from the support team and interfacing with vendors, primary contacts, client IT Staff and in-house account management; the Backup Administrator is expected to design, implement, maintain and communicate all things backup within our client base. The Backup Administrator is detailed, thorough and can handle the pressure of ensuring that Multiple, diverse backup jobs run successfully across all Client environments
    System Administrator will install, configure, and maintain operating systems in a variety of organizations. This role involves server-side operations and troubleshooting tasks that support business-critical and development activities. System Administrators also configure user access and monitor system stability and security through deployment and everyday use

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and support the backup environments for multiple, clients.
  • Handle technical escalations regarding backup issues from support team
  • Provide direction to backup team members
  • Visit client sites when required to perform backup server and storage installs and repairs
  • Troubleshoot deep technical issues in backup environments.
  • Deterring incident root cause
  • Making recommendations and defining action plans
  • Mentoring Sharing Best Practice knowledge and lessons learned
  • Assisting and providing guidance to peers
  • Assisting in the improving the overall customer service experience
  • Evaluates and/or recommends purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software.
  • Maintains warehouse systems, diagnoses hardware and software errors on computers.
  • Installs operating systems and application software; develops and monitors system backup procedures; develops and maintains thorough documentation on all aspects of the local area network; automates repetitive data processing operations; integrates multiple computing platforms.
  • Sets up, configures, and connects hardware to assigned computers. Performs additions, changes.
  • Confers with vendors to assist in the development implementation, maintenance, and expansion of existing network equipment and software.
  • Managed Service Provider experience a must
  • Install and Configure Systems
  • Set up the architecture of the system, including back-end databases and scripts for Specific applications and use cases.
  • Perform system monitoring analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues.
  • Maintain backup and redundancy strategies
  • Guarantee security of servers and applications
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
  • Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, And workstations
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Handle day to day operations

Job Requirements

  • Educational Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or any relevant Bachelor degree
  • Experience: 1-3 years of Virtualization & Backup Technologies Delivery, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, storage.
  • A proven record of a successfully delivered project in the same field is a plus.
  • Certificates: Must-Have relevant Professional Certificate from any of the following vendors:
  • (VMware, Nutanix, Commvault, Veeam, or any related vendor)
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent professional communication skills including excellent oral and written skills
