Job Description

IDC Egypt is looking for an Account Manager - Conferences for its Sales Team to be based out of Cairo office.

The candidate will be responsible for making outbound client meetings, tracking and reporting weekly activity, following up on leads, maintaining a customer relations database, identifying additional opportunities, and creating bespoke proposals. The position will be expected to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives.

  • Sales of IDC's Conferences portfolio, which includes local and regional syndicated roadshows and custom events for Egypt and North Africa
  • Key Account Management of top customers and enhancing business opportunities from these accounts
  • Drive business revenues by developing relationships with potential clients and converting them to paying ones
  • Independently prospect new business opportunities, including building one’s own referral networks with potential and current clients
  • Develop prospects and client profiling: developing new contacts and identifying major decision-makers
  • Supporting sales strategy and development within assigned territories
  • Cold-calling in order to generate demand; pipeline management
  • Proposal development for syndicated and custom opportunities
  • Management of sales-related tasks including liaising with finance to ensure successful invoicing
  • As required, attend conferences, meetings, and industry events

Job Requirements

  • The successful candidate shall be based in Cairo with at least 4 years of local experience in Conference Sales, Business Events Sponsorship/Business Development (preferably events with the ICT industry)
  • Have a love of and basic understanding of technology
  • In-depth knowledge of the events ecosystem is preferred
  • Like to work independently, but love being part of a close-knit team that cheers each other on
  • Enjoy networking and talking with new people every day
  • Be an excellent articulator and communicator (Arabic and English) – both verbally and in written communications; especially presentational skills to showcase IDC Events Suite
  • Multitasking, flexible and creative
  • Excellent time and report management skills
