Job Description

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and produce cash flow forecasts and variances against budget projections to assist decision making.Reviews budgets and prepares related budget documents.
  • Produce regular analyses of income and expenditure to assist managers in the budget monitoring process.
  • Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivable.
  • Analyze financial records and reports and make adjustments as needed.Reviews and prepares financial statements and accounting reports , Assist in year-end closing and audits.
  • Supervising and implementing the accounting cycle with respect to the school operations activities.
  • Develop and implement all necessary financial policies and procedures to ensure the provision of an effective financial management service and compliance with any relevant regulations, Maintain reliable and accurate accounting records for the school and produce management accounts as necessary to facilitate the effective management of the school.
  • Summarizes financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss, and other statements.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts; preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Maintain reliable and accurate accounting records for the school and produce management accounts as necessary to facilitate the effective management of the school.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Oversee the preparation of the organization’s financial accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time.
  • Receipts and oversees the deposit of all money accruing to the school system.
  • Report to management regarding the finances of the establishment
  • Monitor external contracts and services provided by suppliers to ensure that these are operating effectively and provide the best value to the organization.
  • Provide support to Operations group, through information analyses (e.g.current processes, actual performance vs. budget and prior year, budget,etc.), preparation  data- assisting  team in the Monthly Operations Review,identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements,annual budget process, periodic forecasting, and periodic analysis of operations performance.
  • Develop and analyze information to assess the current and future financial status of firms.
  • Receipts and oversees the deposit of all money accruing to the school system.
  • Allocates funds to programs and schools with conditions governing their use.
  • collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements.
  • Managing budgets.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Develop and control a centralized accounting system for the school operations to ensure that accounts are effectively managed.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely payment of staff salaries and expenses, ensuring that appropriate statutory deductions are made and reconciled to HR records.
  • Communicates assigned tasks to accounts team in a manner that is clear and concise ensuring high quality, accurate, and efficient results.
  • Produce accurate and timely financial information about the Organization’s financial status and performance to enable decisions to be taken relating to the organization financial strength.
  • Any other related duties assigned by Line Manager

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Preferably Good grade or more).
  • 10+ years experience in international Schools 
  •  CMA, IFRS or Accounting diploma, previously occupied  the position of accounting manager or chief accountant, residence near Marioutia
  • Ability to collect and organize accounting data, interprets its significance, and prepare accurate financial reports.
  • Ability to present accounting data in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to solve difficult and complex accounting and related financial problems.
  • Ability to analyze and recommend improvements in accounting systems.
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Strategic thinking skills.
