Job Description

General Area of Responsibility

  • Manage smooth Procure-to-Pay process for vessels in Oman –develops sources of supplies and quotations. Purchases materials, equipment, supplies and services in accordance with prescribed purchasing manual and procedures at the most competitive price.

Specific Area of Responsibility:

Your main tasks will be:

  • Seek to obtain the highest quality merchandise and ensuring that all procurement procedures implemented through the company's procurement System (using Sertica program).
  • Comply with global and regional frame agreements and support the operations under time pressure
    Conduct category management/ sourcing activities, etc.
  • Responsible of designing an executing a Procurement strategy together with Oman stakeholders as well as regional Procurement Department.
  • Leading negotiations and driving engagement between the company and its suppliers.
  • Responsible for supplier relationship management, building strong relations with the vendors to drive value through the supply chain
  • Accountability for problem solving, analytical work, and driving insights from analytical work related to procurement functions
  • Ensure that procurement Procedures implemented according to offshore vessel Management and self assessment(OVMSA).
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving all submitted quotations as well as placing orders after the necessary approvals.
  • Responsible for company procurement score in Country monthly report.
  • Responsible for achieving cost saving targets and cost avoidance pertaining to procurement function.
  • Providing input/feedback on: best practices, procurement processes, suppliers performance, issues / challenges, needs and managing purchasing related risks.
  • Assist operations, technical and crewing in preparing yearly budget .
  • Evaluate suppliers on the basis of price, quality, service support, availability, reliability and selection according to group procurement Manual in coordination with technical department.
  • Liaise with freight forwarding companies to insure the timely and low cost logistics of spare parts and consumables(optimizing last mile cost. )
  • Arranging customs clearance procedures for out coming spare parts and consumables shipments.
  • Make sure that all vendors invoices are handled through the company's automated system.
  • Coordinate with company functional departments ( Finance - Operation – Technical..etc. ) as per country strategy and business requirements .

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain / Finance or any related Business field.
  • Required years of experience 8-10 years in supply chain.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Contract creation knowledge.
  • Inventory and warehouse experience.
  • Presentation and excellent communication skills.
  • Gulf Country experience preferred.
  • Experience in maritime industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Sertica system or Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  • Required language skills: (English & Arabic)
  • Males Preferred
