Job Description
- Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring all acquisitions, disposals, and transfers are accurately recorded.
- Perform periodic physical verification of fixed assets and reconcile discrepancies with accounting records.
- Prepare and process monthly depreciation schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate with project and site teams to track asset movements and ensure proper tagging and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements by providing detailed fixed asset reports and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external audit requirements related to fixed assets.
- Support annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding fixed asset transactions.
- Analyze asset utilization and recommend improvements for asset management and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to validate asset capitalization and classification.
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of fixed asset management systems and processes.
Job Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● 3 to 5 years of experience in fixed assets accounting or a similar accounting role.
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and fixed asset management practices.
● Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
● Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
● Experience in the construction or contracting industry is an advantage.
● Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred.
