Job Description
- Analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Prepare and maintain accurate cost records for all products and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective cost control strategies.
- Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile discrepancies between physical and recorded inventory.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to cost accounting.
- Conduct periodic audits of cost accounting systems and processes to ensure data integrity.
- Support pricing decisions by providing detailed cost analysis and profitability assessments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports for management review.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new cost accounting procedures and systems.
- Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff on cost accounting best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, methods, and best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
