Job Description
- Providing a technical advice service to the pre-press department and assisting with the preparation of quotations and estimates as required.
- Giving technical advice to all operators in the use of equipment and materials within the Unit and carrying out certain operations as required.
- Sampling all delivered materials to ensure the specified level of quality is maintained.
- Establishing quality standards, including checking and inspection of completed work before dispatch.
- Monitoring regularly and frequently the equipment and resources of the Print Unit to ensure that the best technical use is maintained.
- Regularly reviewing new developments of opportunities relevant to improving the Print Unit capabilities.
- Assisting the customer service and sales departments in deciding which orders are produced by the Print Unit and which orders may/should be printed elsewhere.
- To organize and supervise staff and resources engaged in the Printing to ensure full operational coverage at a minimal cost at all times during operating hours.
- Maintaining and developing effective systems for the receipt and control of all work received in the Printing section and work received from the unit’s Design "Pre-press" section.
- Operating the production control systems and setting targets
- Ensuring production by the cheapest and most effective method available in liaison with the customer service and sales departments
- Allocating work to staff to maintain deadlines set.
- Introducing and maintaining and quality control procedure within the Unit.
- Preparing and ensuring standard safe operating procedures.
- Operating the Unit within the cost parameters set by top management.
- Ensuring all materials and hours worked, are recharged.
- Ensuring that clear instructions for Purchase Orders are given to staff at each stage of production, and monitoring the actual progress of work against the production program.
- Liaising with all print room staff to ensure the overall effectiveness of the Print Unit.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Males only
- Technical Training courses on Printing and Quality
- Experience more than 5 years as a print room manager
- Age not less than 35 years
- Extensive experience in supervising printing machines:
1 machine KBA working on sheets 70 * 100 to 120 * 162 cm
Heidelberg CD4 , CD5, CD6, and 8 colors - Works in well reputation offset presses working in Cartoon boxes (Corrugated , Laminated) and magazines
