Job Description
We are looking for a candidate who is a subject matter expert with hands-on experience supporting PostgreSQL and MySQL databases. This role will be primarily focused on production database administration for PostgreSQL & MySQL databases.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain complex databases which may include access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
- Automate every aspect of datastore software and schema change management that can be automated.
- Plan and execute system upgrades with little to no downtime.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of talented engineers to help them build reliable and scalable services.
- Create physical database design and implement required database technologies and functions following database standards and best practices.
- Create, support, and maintain business continuity and disaster recoveries practices such as backup and recovery processes and implementation of high availability features.
- Troubleshoot a wide range of database problems with complex inter-dependencies and provide corrective action within an appropriate period.
- Plan the database upgrade process.
- Monitor capacity and performance and proactively resolve problems.
Job Requirements
- Seeking candidates with VERY STRONG PostgreSQL DBA experience.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and development
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling tools.
- Demonstrated experience in PosgressSQL tooling such as, PGAdmin, PGbadger, Dbeaver, datagrip, ect.
- Background with advanced working knowledge of multiple operating systems (Linux/Windows),
- Bachelor degree in computer science, or information technology, or other related field of study
- Has PHP programming skill is a big plus.
