Job Description

  • Oversees the preparation of tax payments and the estimation and tracking of tax returns
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Restrain the company from falling under legal tax violations 
  • Delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within the timeframe.
  • Providing innovative tax planning and reviewing complex income tax returns
  • Follows up on everything related to the tax file
  • Positive attitude as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ensure all local, regional and corporate tax reporting for BU is completed accurately and on-time as directed. 
  • Actively ensure compliance with laws, policies and best practices. 
  • Attend -as requested- Regional BU related finance meeting. Own, manage and complete financial information requests from Regional/Corporate BU organizations
  • Lead and manage responses to queries from local tax authorities in relation to tax audits or assessments by communicating with regional and corporate tax teams and coordinating review and submission of supporting documents and responses in line with the tax defense strategy
  • Implement tax planning measures as determined and ensure robust documentation is in place to support tax defense and monitors benefits
  • Complete the regular tax reports (periodic and annual)
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedure
  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms
  • Ensure that Transfer pricing book is adhered for any transfer pricing related matters on the tax audit
  • Plan, facilitate and manage the preparation and review of company different types of taxes, and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms
  • Assess and research complex tax issues to identify solutions
  • Offer support and guidance during audits
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, Tax advisors and Tax authority 
  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxation
  • Lead all tax related tasks in accordance with core A2R model
  • Project management for inbound/through-bound investment into the region
  • Co-ordinate and support any allocations/cost share between BU’s within market or above market.
  • Develop framework for internal & external control and governance in tax management
  • Lead tax risk control initiatives including annual self-assessment to identify, evaluate and mitigate tax exposure
  • Support execution of tax strategies and support implementation of tax projects initiated from global tax
  • Support BUs meet complex demands for tax reporting, compliance, planning, strategy and controversy. By integrating deep technical and industry knowledge with established methodologies, you work with a wide range of transactions help them develop and implement effective, practical and sustainable tax strategies
  • Ensure BU prepare timely computations in a timely manner to comply with statutory reporting (Including corporate income tax, VAT, customs duties and other similar taxes and management reporting (Including A schedules, Outsource, transfer price package )
  • Ensure BU maintain all required documentation in support of tax computations and submissions related to tax and transfer price matters
  • At all times engaging with both internal and external stakeholders (tax consultant and tax authorities)
  • Ensure global tax teams are informed of any notice for tax assessment or audit
  • Ensuring coordination with tax consultant prior to engaging with tax authorities on tax assessments or audits

Job Requirements

Technical Proficiency:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a financial / economic orientation or equivalent.
  • Must have any one of the Professional Qualification ACMA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Possess 7 to 10 years of relevant working experience in a professional services environment and taxable accounts.
  • Preferable with Big 4 experience
  • Well versed with new unified and prior tax procedures law of Egypt, Income Tax Law Saudi Arabia, Qatari Tax System and Transfer Pricing
  • Excellent technical tax knowledge in tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations, hands on experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, Local GAAP and US GAAP
  • Familiarity with accounting ERP software packages
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including advanced MS Excel Skills
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the Egyptian indirect tax and corporate laws, policies, and procedures related to them.
