Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer shall support projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This includes all aspects of the projects including design, analysis, calculations, specifications, and preparation of reports, bill of quantities, and other project documentation.
Responsibilities / Authorities:
- Responsibilities shall include, but may not be limited to:
- All aspects of design works for Electrical and ELV works including lighting design, power distribution, electrical load schedules, ELV systems like security, CCTV, Access Control, Central Battery systems, Fire Alarm and Detection, etc.
- Preparation of design drawings and bill of quantities
- Preparation of specification documents and design load and calculations
- Knowledge and use of drafting and calculation software
- Material submittal reviews, shop drawings review, on-site meetings and installation acceptance, etc.
- All aspects of analysis works required for design reviews and energy auditing including analysis of as-built documentation, energy uses, on site measurements, energy conservation measures, etc.
- Any project specific requirements in relation to electrical engineering and project management.
- Engineering assistance to various departments and engineering-related correspondences
- Attending meetings with clients / main contractors / consultants
- Liaison and coordination with various authorities and certification bodies
- Coordination with team members etc. to meet any contingencies / urgent project requirements
- Coaching Junior Electrical Engineers
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent degrees
- Strong basic Electrical Engineering skills - good grasp of EE fundamentals (power distribution, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, ELV systems, etc.).
- At least 10 years of electrical / MEP design experience.
- Mainly worked in the design department of a consulting company.
- Knowledge of engineering calculations and is able to use/learn calculation software successfully.
- A strong technical knowledge and design skills and awareness to local & international standards.
- Very strong communication and written skills in English.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- A strong attention to detail.
- The ability to think conceptually and critically.
- The ability to conduct effective design workshops and work successfully as team member.
