Job Description
General Responsibilities :
- Communicates and coordinates between departmental manufacturing engineering for OEMs to implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain consistent performance to objectives
- Interacts with program planning and maintenance on processing, layout, and tooling for current and future products
- Oversee the business plan for power tool torque monitoring, calibration activities
- Lead New projects integration plans across all cross functional teams
- Maintains knowledge, communication and understanding of the business, people, products, process and the changes necessary to make the area successful
- Monitor the scorecard reporting process for input into Gap Closure Planning
- Utilizes analytical tools to improve throughput and system efficiency
- Investigates build problems utilizing Problem Solving Process, and provides technical input on the build process and / or dimensional understanding
- Maintains proper tool performance (reviews for function, dimensional performance, and preventive maintenance)
- Specifies tools and equipment used the assembly process
- Updates existing tools to accommodate failure models or implements new tools as required
- Coordinates new model planning regarding tool requirements
- Develops assembly process systems
- Responsible for managing/updating of assembly process systems/documentation
Safety :
- Ensure discipline in following safety policies and procedures in day to day activities or new projects implementations
- Responsible for contracted supplier activities during projects and ensure full compliance with safety policies and procedures for projects under responsibility of scope.
- Promotes safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics and health/safety
- Maintain regular 5S culture across all team area to drive and maintain neat and well-presented.
- Conduct regular safety workplace assessments in all shop direct / indirect areas
- Support closure of all open related actions during safety assessments related to engineering countermeasures and develop required gap closure plans
People Management :
- Builds and maintains good working relationships with integrity with employees, management and supplier community
- Fosters continuous improvements in all aspects of the business
- “Walk” the floor to build relationships, obtain information and feedback from shop floor leaders
Quality :
- Ensures the implementation of quality management systems into related manufacturing engineering – Office / Facilities Engineering activities
- Optimizes all resources by utilizing statistical methods and data to produce best-in-class quality products (includes Voice of Customer and Voice of Process)
- Leads the understanding and utilization of tools for product, process, and system improvement and problem solving such as:
- Quality Network Problem Solving Process ( 8D reporting )
- Statistical Process Control / Data Feedback Process
- Corrective Action Reporting Process / internal audits findings
- Concentration / PARETO analysis for monthly/quarterly quality logs for trend improvements
- Initiates appropriate actions to prevent quality spills (welding, paint and assembly) through proper implementation of quality plans.
- Annual review plan for FMEA and critical operations control plans as per the OEMs requirements
- Provides an empowered and consistent voice of the assembly plant during all facets of future program development for the assigned major subsystem area
Productivity :
- Manages process requirements by utilizing Competitive Manufacturing Processes with emphasis on variation reduction
- Fosters continuous improvements
- Lead the manufacturing requirements open issue resolution process from the beginning of the program until the launch team takes over
- Support maintenance/production in downtime improvement analysis to work in improving the net throughput for all production lines as per the committed improvement glide path.
- Provides technical support to the production organization (layouts, material/tooling consumptions, safety/quality issues investigation, new equipment installation/training, capacity planning, time study, process documentation, tooling lists, material distribution, racks designs, standard repairs and troubleshooting, equipment upgrades ….. etc.)
- Oversee the production schedule planning process to ensure correct implantation of process constraints reflected
- Drive capacity mapping activities include all future planning for capacity optimization projects
Cost :
- Provides input to the establishment of department budget and efficiency goals
- Manages priorities to minimize the overtime requirements through line motion studies and rates increase.
- Manages spending within planned budget and meets cost objectives
- Provides investment cost study estimates for plant projects
- Provides accurate cost tracking on approved projects
- Support maintenance in assets control and retirement/upgrade/replacement plans to ensure best utilization of the equipment lifetime.
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
- BSc. Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering
- 7+ years’ experience, Preferred with machining / CNC / Turning Background
- Advanced skill in using MS office, AutoCAD and MS project
- Certified Lean Six sigma green belt is preferred
