Job Description
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
- Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
- Identify main audiences and determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them.
- Write interesting and effective press releases, prepare information for media kits and develop and maintain company internet or intranet web pages and newsletter.
- Develop and maintain the company's corporate image and identity, which includes the use of logos and signage.
- Manage special events such as sponsorship of races, parties, press conferences, round tables, introducing new products/project and launches, or other activities the firm supports in order to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly.
- Draft speeches for company executives, and arrange interviews and other forms of contact for them.
- Develop and implement strategic PR programs to achieve significant increases in brand awareness
- Identify key media outlets, press kits
- Develop compelling story angles
- Pitch stories to both national and local media. Achieve highest visibility for in print, broadcast, TV and online media outlets
- Write clear and compelling pitch letters, press releases and by-lined articles
- Identify media trends, news cycles and spin opportunities
- Proactively manage editorial calendars
- Analyze and measure results of PR programs
- Manage budgets and campaign ROI
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as public relations executive or similar role
- 3-5 years of experience in the same field and preferably ex-Agency
- Proven experience in coordinating and managing effective PR campaigns through various channels
- Solid knowledge of social media (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable as a public speaker
- Ability to build strong relationships with key people or organizations
- A creative mind partnered with the ability to find the best practical solutions
- BSc/BA in PR, marketing or similar field
