Job Description

IDC is looking for a Market Research Manager for its Services Program, to be based out of Cairo, Egypt. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to spearhead IDC's market analysis and advisory services that are delivered to IT services and telecom providers in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region.

The Telecommunications and IT Services Program develops and delivers market analysis, advisory and consulting to telecommunication providers, multi-national IT services companies and local / regional system integrators and service providers covering technology areas such core telecom and connectivity services such as fixed and mobile voice and data, 5G, SDN/NFV, cloud, Edge Computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), managed services, datacenter services, security services, outsourcing, system integration services, business process outsourcing (BPO), and business consulting services, to name a few.

The Program comprises a team of market analysts who deliver advisory on market opportunity, market entry, portfolio strategy, competitive strategy and other such areas.

  • Support Services teams on trackers, spending guides, standardized consulting project deliverables, syndicated reports etc. wherever required.
  • Support the services contract database, channel partner ecosystem guide, etc.
  • Initiate/expand ITS and /or telecom (TST) research for Egypt & North Africa.
  • Support the growth and development of the IDC Services team across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region while working both on Consulting and Syndicated studies.
  • Actively contribute to the growth of Services program growth in Egypt by independently and collaboratively developing Egypt opportunity and delivering consulting engagements as per agreed scope of work.
  • Support the execution of existing and new initiatives being undertaken by the services team; in particular related to Services Contract database, IDC trackers, and Marketscape documents.
  • Proactively contribute to the research agenda of the region by engaging in meaningful client interactions and contributing to the syndicated report calendar of the region.

Job Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience ideally with IT Services/telecommunication providers or with a market research company with experience in strategy/planning or product/service management, consulting, or market intelligence roles, not technical roles
  • A passion for technology and a natural inclination to follow, analyze and comment on the latest trends and developments
  • Strong research and analytical skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Strong data modeling and analysis skills.
  • Ability to work in a very agile and highly collaborative environment.
  • A Master’s degree from a reputed university with a strong academic record at all levels
  • High-value personal qualities - resourceful, responsible, tenacious, independent, self-confident, high energy, etc.
  • Excellent English communication skills – oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and similar software
