Job Description
We are seeking a talented WordPress & WooCommerce Developer who can create, customize, and manage our e-commerce website. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in WordPress and WooCommerce, with the ability to implement custom integrations, layouts, and features. A background in design and wireframe translation is a huge plus, as well as experience in optimizing website performance and SEO.
You will work closely with our team to bring our wireframes and ideas to life, ensuring that the website is responsive, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the WordPress and WooCommerce-based e-commerce website.
- Customize themes, plugins, and layouts to meet project requirements.
- Implement custom integrations with third-party APIs (e.g., logistics and payment gateways).
- Ensure responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility for all designs.
- Translate wireframes and mockups into functional web pages.
- Optimize website speed, performance, and SEO.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Ensure site security through best practices and regular updates.
- Work on custom coding (PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for advanced features if needed.
- Collaborate with designers and marketing teams to align website functionality with business goals.
- Provide website support and prompt response to technical issues or downtime.
Job Requirements
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in WordPress and WooCommerce development.
- Proven experience with theme and plugin customization.
- Comfortable working with RTL designs and Arabic localization.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first development.
- Experience with database management and MySQL.
- Ability to work with APIs for custom integrations.
Design Skills (Optional but Preferred):
- Ability to work with design tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
- Strong eye for detail to ensure designs are implemented accurately.
Optimization Skills:
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Knowledge of website speed optimization tools (e.g., caching, CDN, image compression).
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Website Support Expectations:
Response Time: Promptly address any critical website issues.
Support Tasks:
- Fix bugs or downtime issues that may arise.
- Manage website updates to prevent technical glitches.
- Provide technical guidance or recommendations for improvements.
Nice to Have:
Previous experience in e-commerce projects, particularly targeting the MENA region.
