Job Description

The ICRC is a neutral and independent international humanitarian organization

  • The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Cairo is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following vacancy: 

Welcome Assistant

Job purpose:

  • The Welcome Assistant helps ensure that Welcome activities are organized smoothly, including coordination of pick-up/drop-off of ICRC staff and guests, travel arrangements, visas, permits, official registration and accommodation.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Welcome department in all administrative activities as requested.
  • Participates in organizing pick-up and accommodation (hotel, apartment, house) for staff and guests.
  • Interacts with relevant authorities (ministries, consulates, etc.) regarding certificates, visas, permits, registration, etc.
  • Helps organize staff travel (plane, train, bus, etc.) by the most effective costs/mean in line with the organization’s travel policy and, if required, coordinate drop-off at / pick-up from airports, stations, etc.
  • Organizes communication flow between ICRC offices, sub-delegation, delegations and/or headquarters regarding staff travel.
  • Keeps all appropriate databases up to date on travel details of staff members.
  • Organizes Welcome files, events/meetings/seminars, coordinating with the parties concerned.
  • Internally, interacts with ICRC mobile and resident staff.
  • Externally, interacts with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Ministry of the Interior, airport and immigration authorities, travel agencies, airlines and transport companies.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • University degree is required, supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work
  • Travel agency background is preferred
  • Certified AMADEUS is a must

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience especially with Travel, Events Logistical support, as well as procurement experience, is a must.

Language Requirements:

  • Both English and Arabic fluency is required.
