Job Description
- Follow and implement department policies.
- Participate in all the activities related to the library.
- Arrange and organize the books according to their codes / specialization to be easy to find.
- Conduct a survey of the unavailable books to meet the university’s needs.
- Recommend titles for purchase for the reference collection
- Receive/deliver books from/to the students / staff and record their data and follow up on the borrowed books with them.
- Keep abreast of new resources added to the collection.
- Provide reference services at public service desks, and answer electronic reference queries.
- Guide students, faculty, and other patrons in the use of research tools for their studies.
- Notice, approach and answer the members inquire in a proper way.
- Perform any additional tasks that might be necessary for easier workflow, within the mainframe of the job’s specialty.
- Weekly Help Desk hours (including some evenings)
Job Requirements
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor degree in Library and information science
- Experience: 0 to 3 years’ experience.
Qualifications:
- Very Good English Language skill
- Good knowledge Library management system (KOHA)
- Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office programs
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations.
- Customer service oriented
