Job Description

We are hiring for a major client a full time Infrastructure Datacentre – LAN  1/L2/L3 Support Engineer located in Cairo, Egypt

Responsibilities:

The candidate should be an expert in the following areas:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and Layer 1 and 2 connectivity problems
  • Working with Monitoring tools and identification of events / incidents
  • Ticket logging, classification, prioritization, escalation
  • Perform simple activities (Device health check, Co-ordination with users and other teams, Switch restart, Configuring switch interface, Firewall rule creation etc.) by following Standard Operating Procedures / Knowledge Base articles.
  • Prioritizing and escalating with Manager on duty (MOD) to ensure timely resolution
  • Incident & Service Request Management within Service Level Agreement

The candidate will need to have acceptable knowledge on the following areas:

  • Managing and documenting knowledge artifacts
  • Perform analysis of repeated incidents and come up solutions that help in preventing such incidents.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have experience/knowledge with the following technologies:

  • Good Understanding of LAN L1/L2/L3 
  • Datacentre Networking, BGP, OSPF, SSL, IPsec, VPN, Nexus 
  • Good Understanding of networking protocols- BGP, OSPF, TCP/ IP and security protocols- SSL, IPsec, VPN technologies 
  • Hands on experience in Routers, Switches, Firewalls (Multi-Vendor) 
  • Hands on experience in network management tools  

The candidate must have the following qualifications/experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering / Technology / Science  
  • Should be able to work with colleagues from different cultures  
  • ITIL Process Awareness (Incident , Change and Problem Management) 
  • Excellent Analytical and troubleshooting skill. 
  • Excellent in Verbal, written communication. 
  • Willingness and flexibility to learn new technologies scale up quickly and adapt to different roles as the situation demands. 
  • Good to have CCNA level certification 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and self-learning skills
  • Arabic Speaking with Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Accessibility and security compliance as per the customer requirement

The following experience will be a plus:

  • Firewall
  • DNS/DHCP/IPAM
