Job Description
- Develop and implement the Bank's legal strategy in alignment with business objectives and regulatory
requirements. - Advise the Board, CEO, and Executive Committee on all legal, regulatory, and contractual matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and agreements to protect the Bank's interests.
- Oversee legal risk management processes, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of risks.
- Liaise with QCB, regulatory bodies, and external counsel on legal matters.
- Ensure all operations, products, and services comply with Islamic banking principles and local laws.
- Lead the legal aspects of digital product launches, fintech partnerships, and cross-border transactions.
- Manage and mentor the legal team, fostering high standards of professional conduct.
- Represent the Bank in legal proceedings, dispute resolution, and arbitration when required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB); Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum 15 years' legal experience, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles within banking or financial services.
- Strong expertise in Islamic banking regulations, commercial law, and financial technology legal frameworks.
- Proven track record in regulatory liaison and complex contract negotiations.
- Experience in digital banking, fintech partnerships, and cross-jurisdictional legal matters
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English required; Arabic proficiency highly desirable
