Job Description

  • To provide expert strategic advice and leadership on governance and assurance for the Care Group to further the overall Trust approach to Governance. 
  • To review procedures and practice in relation to Governance plans, strategic developments and Risk Management (including risk assessments and risk register maintenance) ensuring actions are developed and implemented, escalating issues as the needs arise.
  • To investigate and analyse issues arising from all types of Governance data to develop actions to address issues and trends in order to ensure learning and planning.
  • To assist in the development of corporate policies and lead in Care Group policies/ procedures related to Governance. 
  • Support the implementation of projects focusing on sound Corporate Governance
  • To constructively challenge processes and behaviors in relation to Governance, Risk and quality of care, escalating to direct line managers any performance issues as required.
  • To lead on the identification of Governance projects required within the Care Group and the successful implementation and evaluation of the projects undertaken.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence the actions of internal stakeholders and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in compliance, legal, privacy, information security, or related area and total of 12 to 20 years of experience.
