Job Description

  • Oversee the general accounting function, maintain accounting records including data entry of complete and accurate data for day to day business transactions.
  • Prepare invoices, monitor collection of revenues, handle the incoming invoices, prepare reconciliations, initiate payments.
  • Prepare and/or review standard monthly journal entries
  • Prepare and/or review monthly reconciliations and related workpapers
  • Detailed review and analysis of community level income statements prepared by the corporate accountants
  • Detailed review of community level balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the corporate accountants, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and accrued liabilities
  • The Sr. Accountant is responsible for assisting the  Finance, Director of Hotel Accounting, Staff Accountants and payroll accountant with duties such as tax reconciliation and reporting, systems integrity verification, weekly reports, reconciliations, budgets, audits, auditing payrolls etc. Additionally, the Sr.
  • Sr.Accountant’ duties will also include managing and maintaining the weekly ledger balance verifications and overseeing accounts payable of specific properties.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience  in accommodation and hospitality industry
  • bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting and finance
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the Hospitality industry, have a strong financial background, and have sound administrative skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, team builder and creative.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have computer excellent skills with MS Office (excel, word, outlook).
  • Must have critical thinking attributes by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Must be able to work with multiple hotels financials.
  • Must have some knowledge of account payable, reconciling, reporting and or accounting software experience.
