Specific Responsibilities:
We are looking for a dedicated and well-rounded team member to join our Al Jazeera English Programmes Department as a show Producer for The Stream. As the Produce of The Stream you will be responsible for taking individual episodes from pitch to live broadcast. You will build the rundown for the show, making the most of video and social media content, and will oversee guest selection and social media content to be used during the programme.
As the successful candidate you will well experienced in a control room holding the experience to lead the production team., you will have excellent communication and writing skills who can synthesize big ideas with a understanding of global news and current affairs, and is tapped into lesser known corners of the world and conversations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, research and pitch show topics and social media content
- Organise production of daily, recorded or live programme
- Coach and mentor Associate Producers, researchers and interns and bring expertise to the whole team to develop skills
- Write scripts and build rundown for the show
- Oversee production team in control room when taking the show live to air
- Oversee editing of show for repeats
- Proofread web content
Experience & Education Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication or other related fields.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in TV or related fields as producer on factual programmes in current affairs
- Up-to-date knowledge of discussions, documentaries or magazine shows.
- Knowledge of Ofcom regulations and legal dangers for broadcasters and publishers.
- knowledge of one or more languages other than English is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of camera-work, lighting, field ops and media management desirable
