Job Description

The Specification Manager is responsible for the Marketing of all BASF products across Egypt. The Specification Manager provides ongoing support to sell and specify our Admixtures and Construction Systems products. Additionally, the Specification Manager supports the sales team in his specified area with consultants’ offices and consultants’ representatives at all sites.  The Specification Manager ensures growth in sales, revenue through specifying our targeted products with different stake holders (e.g. consultants, owners, developers…), based on vision and strategy of the Marketing department. Reports disciplinary and Functionally to the Business Development Manager.

Responsibilities will entail, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Brainstorming and aligning with Business Development Manager to create new project and consultants follow up strategies and executing marketing objectives.
  • Arranging business meetings and one-on-one conversations with prospective clients and building trust and long-term relationships with clients/customers
  • Developing ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty by identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
  • Developing growth strategies and plans by managing and retaining relationships with existing clients and increasing client base
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition and writing business proposals
  • Reporting on successes and areas needing improvements
  • Identifying sales and services that would appeal to new clients by managing company and client expectations
  • Reviewing time frames and budgets for the Specification department.
  • Managing client accounts (consultants, owners, developers…)
  • Finding and following new leads and opportunities
  • Attending networking events
  • Negotiating specifications with stakeholders and preparing specifications clauses; following company rules and guidelines
  • Managing records of specifications, revenue from specifications, and other important data
  • Cultivating positive interactions and relationships with sales representatives, team leaders and managers, and executives to evaluate Marketing strategy and results
  • Researching market and industry trends

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from Engineering civil or Architectural, or similar line of study.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:  

  • Intensive knowledge of construction chemicals products and technologies   
  • Presentation skills are a must 

IT skills:

  • Strong command of PowerPoint, Microsoft Office programs 

Language skills (level):

  • High English language proficiency is a must
