Job Description

The Social Media Specialist position is responsible for managing the social presence of Awakening Music, along with the roster of Awakening Music artists. 

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for helping develop and execute digital marketing campaigns, as well as achieving and accelerating engagement goals by managing social media properties to super-serve both artists and fans.

  • Manage social communication strategy across core social media platforms for the Label and Artists, as well as spearheading comprehensive digital campaigns for Artist and management, from ideation, to creation, to execution – includes: drafting copy and developing content to submit for approvals for posting, sending respective buy links, monitoring social activity, and scheduling posts
  • Manage Social Media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities
  • Execute and manage paid social media campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and various other outlets
  • Analyze social media campaigns and optimize for effectiveness (i.e. Maximum Reach and Engagement, Clicks, Views, A/B testing with content and copy, etc.)
  • Generate weekly reporting on Label and Artist socials activity and growth
  • Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy
  • Manage the creation of all published content (images, video, and written).
  • Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a “Social” way.
  • Develop and expand community outreach efforts.
  • Prepare a report for management showing results (ROI).
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the business.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of Social Media campaigns.
  • Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  • Identify and execute ways to acquire and engage new music fans around heritage artists via existing and emerging platforms like TikTok, Triller, Byte, etc.
  • Approach Influencers and Brands for possible partnerships within the digital space
  • Stay informed of trending topics and social media trends to leverage and communicate accordingly

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or Media
  • Proven previous experience in the same position at least 2 years
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Have a love of music and the creative industries
  • Strong understanding of social media tools
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to effectively multitask
  • Self-directed, highly motivated team player
  • Demonstrate innovative and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate analytical skills, including oral and written communication skills to identify problems and objectives and convey information and ideas in formal and informal oral or written presentations.
  • Thorough understanding of the ecosystem on various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. from a customer-facing and business perspective
  • Proven experience of booking online advertising campaigns within Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
  • Proven ability to utilize data to inform the social strategy, including acquiring new fans, engaging them, and eventually leading to conversion
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and copy writing experience
  • Great organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly to provided deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have great interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with the artists and work of Awakening Music Catalog is a plus
  • Ability to successfully utilize, track and manage budgets and campaigns for multiple clients
  • A knack for writing catchy, suitable, attention-grabbing content for both PPC and/or Social Ads
  • A strong desire to learn: The digital marketing landscape is always changing – our team stays up-to-date on the latest trends and updates so we can deliver the best for our clients

IT WOULD BE A MAJOR ADVANTAGE IF YOU ALSO HAD:

  • Experience with photo and video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, etc.)
  • Experience with booking online advertising within social networks.
  • Experience with big media brands is a plus.
  • Passion for music
  • 5+ years of Social Media/Online Marketing experience
