Job Description

Job Overview:

The main objective of a Government Relations Specialist is to oversee and effectively coordinate all government-related clients’ requests and activities.

He/she ensures that the company fulfills all the requests and challenges faced by the company’s clients in Egyptian governmental agencies through liaising with different internal stakeholders and government employees. In addition, a Government Relations Specialist strives to build a strong company presence with governmental stakeholders through creating long-term relationships that aim at facilitating interactions and approval cycles.

.Responsibilities and duties: 

  • Dealing with most of the governmental entities in Egypt in addition to providing general guidance to all activities related to the government engagement
  • Drafting and handling all correspondences such as e-mails, proposals, the scope of work, invitations, etc. in both languages English and Arabic
  • Facilitating B2G meetings
  • Performing a comprehensive Stakeholders Mapping of all relevant figures/entities to a specific topic or issue
  • Conducting Lobbying campaigns on specific laws/ regulations or any decrees that might affect our client’s business
  • Provide Crisis management support
  • Develop and manage company strategy for strengthening relationships with elected officials and government agencies and increasing their understanding of and support for the company;
  • Monitor legislation and policy activities, update and advise leadership and staff about relevant policy proposals and actions, and work with staff to analyze potential impacts;
  • Work closely with the Egyptian Ministries other related organizations to ensure that all required documents are issued on time and are kept up to date;
  • Keep the senior management updated about new and changing regulations, documentation requirements, and any trends in government activities that might affect the operations;
  • Initiate communication with internal stakeholders to collect government-related requests and see its fulfillment with external parties;
  • Conduct periodic visits to relevant ministries and governmental agencies to initiate, follow up or finalize government registration procedures;
  • Develops a wide range of materials in support of government relations agenda, such as talking points, legislative summaries, factsheets, testimony, reports, and letters.

Job Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in governmental relations.
  • Experience in dealing with government authorities is a must.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Arabic language.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Wide range of connections.
  • Representable.
  • Maximum age 35.
