Job Description

  • Develop propose and implement food safety & quality strategies that align to the overall business strategies and will deliver the business plan.
  • Establish world class methodology to monitor all processing and packing of safe food/ products on a day-to-day basis and lead its implementation and development across manufacturing and distribution sites.
  • Investigate, select, develop and implement suitable quality systems, quality plans and quality review mechanisms as per the agreed strategies.
  • Manage and/or Direct Quality resources within the company, and Co-Packers across Fridal business from material inputs to the final product delivery across the value chain.
  • Provision of technical support mechanisms for new product development in close liaison with Product development tam to ensure company and product design, and customer/consumer values are aligned from quality, and risk perspective.
  • Develop audit strategies across Fridal facilities which maximize product safety and product quality compliance whilst minimizing cost inputs, through cost of poor-quality models, with a focus on real time delivery of data for decision making and rapid release of finished goods.  
  • Identify, develop and implement suitable controls and management tools for an integrated risk management process focused on 24/7 all divisions manufacture and its distribution and sale.
  • Liaise with approved external audit resources (inclusive of customers), potential suppliers, Co-Packers and other interested parties in regard to Fridal quality systems, system management, compliance requirements and proposals (both internally and externally generated) to ensure Fridal’s interests are protected and best represented from a product quality, food safety and risk perspective.
  • Provide direction and support for the company Quality Council and ensure information and data is presented in a manner suitable for crisis decision making and strategic/policy development.  
  • Champion the business continuity and crisis management program for the business from a quality and business risk perspective.
  • Prepare and support annual budget costing for external quality management system, food safety system and audit programs.  
  • Provide leadership and direction for quality escalation values, plans and identified issues at both site and executive levels.
  • Provide a support base for all site quality management teams inclusive of technical, regulatory, and system development and implementation.
  • Support, encourage and foster a work environment both within the Group and throughout functional interfaces that allows a quality culture to propagate and flourish.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering/ science/ food science
  • Lean 6 sigma certification is a plus
  • A seasoned professional with 8-10 years of experience in a FMCG based Senior/Group QA role with a food or personal/ home care focus and a multi-national company background.
  • Strong and varied knowledge of quality and risk system development with an authoritative insight into the relationships between these and other critical processes and management fields
  • Results Orientation/ Process Management
  • Ability to provide leadership and technical expertise in management
  • Communication skills, ability to negotiate and influence others
  • Identify/Generate/Implement Best Practices/Tools
