ABOUT THE POSITION
This position is for our truWeb product team. truWeb is a SAAS Content Management System that is built on a leading open-source platform, but we also manage a real-time quoting system and an AI based predictive quoter as well as help the insurance industry with many other digital initiatives. Our team functions like a fast-paced digital agency but has the focus of a software development company. As part of our distributed and multi-disciplined team, this position collaborates closely with other developers, designers, our QA/QC team as well as account managers and members of the client success team. This position also provides fantastic opportunities for growth in multiple areas including web accessibility, frontend performance, backend API integrations and search engine optimization (SEO).

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide development expertise to a cross-disciplinary, and diverse team, to ensure that the development needs are balanced with other competing priorities
- Work with a cross-functional, full-stack development team to build cross-platform, responsive, high-performing websites and applications
- Architect and develop applications for a clustered or distributed environment
- Bring innovative ideas to the table to help make our environment and processes better
- Be constantly experimenting, innovating and keeping up with new trends and technologies
- Perform some technical lead tasks including mentoring other developers, performing code reviews and facilitating collaboration between team members
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of website development experience in a team environment
- Experience in Continuous Integration
- Experience in Web tooling and Automation
- Experience in building well architecture and modular applications
- Experience in dependency management tools, such as NPM and Composer
- Experience in using version control, preferably GIT
- Experience developing user-friendly, responsive, and appealing websites following modern development standards and workflows
- Expertise in rendering page designs (Photoshop, Sketch, Figma or InVision) into responsive web pages (HTML5, Bootstrap 4, PHP, CSS3, and JavaScript)
- Proven experience in SCSS including mixins, variables, functions, and performance optimizations using tools such as Lighthouse and WebPageTest
- Strong working knowledge of CMS platforms including WordPress, Drupal and Laravel
- Understanding of semantic markup and experience with accessibility standards such as WCAG and ADA
- Experience with cross-platform and cross-browser testing and working closely with quality control engineers
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Experience working within Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence
- Working knowledge of Angular and/or React
- Good time management and mentoring skills
