Job Description

Job Purpose

Strives to return a satisfactory profit on Company investments in parts inventory. 

Accomplishes objectives using proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, and displaying.

Follow-up and implement the spare parts management plan and ensure that it is compatible with the company's objectives, in order to serve the company and help it develop and sell the spare parts of high quality and lowest prices in a way that does not affect negatively the Company and to satisfy customers’ needs and solve their problems

Essential Duties

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the parts section and strives to meet them.
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the parts section.
  • Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop and wholesale accounts.
  • To coordinate with Sales distributors & Service team to know market demands & dynamics.
  • Identifying distributors/ suppliers and conducting a periodic study of the market to determine the required (after-market) and preparing the necessary reports.
  • Maintaining a file for each distributor/ supplier and preparing adequate reports on it.
  • Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate enough gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.
  • Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover.
  • Ensures that parts inventory turns to a profit through the year.
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensures that all parts are properly tagged
  • Supervises stock order procedures.
  • Sets and enforces a policy on the special ordering of parts.
  • Ensures that stock orders represent at least a constant percent of all orders.
  • Analyzes sales, expenses and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.
  • Develops and administers an aggressive wholesale parts program to produce profit.
  • Ensures that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal customers.
  • Works with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
  • Analyzes operations procedures and storage layout and revises as needed for maximum effectiveness.
  • Provides technical assistance to parts section employees.
  • Coordinates a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Follow up and review the periodic sale of spare parts “sales productivity” and monitors their daily reports.
  • Utilizes a lost sales tracking report, and develop a plan to reduce sales loss.
  • Directs outside parts and counter sales efforts, to keep in contact with customers.
  • Develops, enforces and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Handles customer complaints immediately according to Company guidelines.
  • Ensures that all purchases are properly accounted before payment is made.
  • Enforces safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, on all products carried.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with governmental rules, and local regulations that may affect parts sales.
  • Updates continuously of the distributors/ suppliers record.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or any other related field
  • At least 7 years of experience in the automotive industry.
  • Experience in the purchasing operation for spare parts & accessories.
  • Experience in Parts Operation Management. 
  • Inventory Management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel is must).
  • Excellent Accounting and analytical skills.
  • Coaching and problem-solving skills
