1Leads and oversees activities related to the establishment of finance policies and controls as well as general administration, and functional performance improvement across the entire function; also provides operations management with interpretive and predictive financial information to make business performance assessments and capital investment decisions through the use of sensitivity, pro forma and cause-and-effect analysis.
As a Decision Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data, evaluating business strategies, and providing valuable insights to support key decision-making processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and marketing, to identify trends, assess risks, and recommend actionable strategies to optimize business performance. Additionally, you will have experience in inventory accounting principles, specifically LIFO, and will excel in developing Business Intelligence (BI) reports and dashboards.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial data, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Utilize SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) software to extract and analyze relevant data. Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to gather requirements and understand business objectives. Apply statistical and analytical techniques to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions. Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning. Prepare reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management. Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact decision-making processes. Analyze and interpret financial data related to inventory management, with a specific emphasis on LIFO accounting principles. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inventory-related information, including purchase records, sales data, and cost of goods sold (COGS) figures. Evaluate the financial impact of different inventory valuation methods, including LIFO, FIFO (First-In, First-Out), and weighted average cost. Conduct scenario analysis to assess the effects of inventory cost fluctuations and provide recommendations on optimizing inventory management strategies. Develop and maintain financial models to forecast inventory levels, assess inventory carrying costs, and support decision-making processes. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management. Develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing BI reports and dashboards using industry-leading tools (e.g., Power BI). Design and implement data models and visualizations that effectively communicate complex information to stakeholders. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency within the reports and dashboards. Identify and track relevant KPIs and metrics to measure business performance. Conduct ad-hoc analysis and deep dives into data to uncover insights and provide recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. A master's degree , CMA or CPA is preferred. Proven experience as a Decision Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role. Strong proficiency in SAP software and advanced knowledge of accounting principles. Solid understanding of financial statements, balance sheets, and financial ratios. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions. Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques. Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data manipulation. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner. High attention to detail and accuracy. Experience with developing BI reports and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
