Job Description
Duties and Tasks:
- Design and build enterprise backup solutions based on customer needs and requirements.
- Administration, maintenance, management of the Back-Office infrastructure services on-premises and remote sites.
- Ongoing proactive system monitoring, fault resolution, system upgrades, administration & maintenance, data security, capacity management, operating system patching, and backup management /system recovery.
- Provide technical and business analytical leadership for the required storage and backup needs or objectives to meet business requirements.
- Assess the risk and impact of highlighted system vulnerabilities, develop, and implement a remediation plan with the guidance and approval of the department manager.
- Analyze complex hardware and software issues associated with backup-related technologies, including NetBackup, CommVault, Data Domain.
- Produce system performance/capacity statistics, diagnostic information as well as a site “as-built” documentation for the supporting infrastructure.
- Provide assistance with the planning, coordination, and delivery of identified IT projects..
- Develop and implement customer-specific action plans.
- Liaise with external service support organizations as required.
- Adhere to all documented standards, policies, and processes
- Document all observations and work performed in a clear and detailed format, with timely status updates/follow-ups to customers and management as required.
- Adhere to the IT Change Management process.
- On top of being highly technical, this position also requires you to have exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance discussions and assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery exercises.
- Able to manage relationships with customers and stakeholders to understand their requirements and design appropriate solutions.
Job Requirements
Education:
- A University degree is a must.
- ITI or NTI certificate is an excellent advance
- Microsoft certificate MCSA
- Another Backup and Data Protection relevant certificate is highly recommended. plus.
- ITIL – PMP - COBIT -Certification is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, and similar backup technologies
- Knowledge of Enterprise storage systems from HPE, EMC, NetApp, and similar systems
- Experience with Enterprise data protection and disaster recovery solution, and understand Enterprise application data management requirements
- Good experience in administration support and configuration of the following products and technologies:
- Enterprise server Operating Systems (Windows servers, Oracle Solaris, Linux …)
- Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure “on-prem, Azure.
- Virtualization Suites as VMware vSphere, VMware ESX, Hyper-V, VMware. Huawei FusionSphere
- Knowledge or experience with HP servers and storage.
- Awareness of backup integration over cloud platforms (AWS | Azure) is a plus.

- The ability to determine the information necessary to strategically assess market situations, as well as the ability to evaluate and determine optimal plans of action is essential.
