Job Description
• Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Windows-based servers, including the operating system, web server software, database servers, and other related components.
• User Account Management: Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights for hosting clients and internal stakeholders.
• Security and Patch Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect servers and hosted applications from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities. Apply necessary updates, patches, and security fixes in a timely manner.
• Microsoft Exchange Administration: Configure and maintain Microsoft Exchange mail server infrastructure, including mailbox databases, email routing, distribution lists, backup, and security settings.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain backup strategies, perform regular backups, and ensure data integrity. Plan and execute disaster recovery procedures when necessary.
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system configurations to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to server hardware, operating system, software, and network connectivity. Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors for issue resolution.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Generate regular reports on system performance, capacity, and uptime.
• Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and customer support, to ensure seamless operation and support for hosted applications and services.
• Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest Windows server technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to the hosting infrastructure.
Job Requirements
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows Server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019).
• Proficiency in managing IIS (Internet Information Services) for web hosting.
• Experience in configuring and administering Microsoft Exchange mail servers (e.g., Exchange Server 2016, 2019).
• Familiarity with hosting control panels, such as Plesk .
• Familiarity with hosting email services Mailenable, Smarter Mail
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of server virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of security principles and best practices for server hardening.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), in Windows Server and Exchange Server, are desirable.
