Job Description
1. Website Development and Customization
• Design, develop, and implement WordPress websites from scratch or by customizing themes and plugins.
• Modify and enhance existing WordPress sites as per project requirements.
• Build responsive website designs that provide optimal viewing across all devices.
2. Content Management and Updates
• Manage and update website content, ensuring consistent formatting and visual appeal.
• Assist the content and design teams in setting up new pages, landing pages, and blog posts.
3. Optimization and SEO
• Optimize website speed and performance to ensure quick load times and a smooth user experience.
• Implement on-page SEO best practices, including alt tags, meta tags, and other SEO-related elements.
4. Troubleshooting and Technical Support
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to WordPress themes, plugins, and core functionality.
• Address website errors, broken links, and any performance issues.
5. Security and Maintenance
• Regularly update WordPress core, plugins, and themes to enhance site security and functionality.
• Monitor and implement security protocols to protect against vulnerabilities.
6. Theme and Plugin Development
• Create custom themes or modify existing ones to fit specific project needs.
• Develop or extend plugins to provide custom site functionality.
7. Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with design, marketing, and IT teams to ensure website aligns with company goals.
• Act as a point of contact for web-related questions and updates.
8. Documentation
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for all development processes, updates, and customizations.
Job Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience: Minimum of [3] years working with WordPress in a development role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with WordPress page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or similar.
• Familiarity with MySQL and database management.
• Knowledge of SEO and web optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting plugins and themes.
• Experience with WordPress security best practices.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
Preferred:
• Experience with version control tools, particularly Git.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks, like Bootstrap, and familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React or Vue.js).
• Understanding of modern web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) for monitoring site performance.
• Familiarity with task runners like Gulp or build tools like Webpack.
