Job Description
Role purpose:
To be an expert in radio optimization in 2G/3G/4G(/5G).
To undertake monitoring, troubleshooting & optimization daily activities on a predefined area to ensure best customer experience, aside from handling global audits and studies across the whole region in cooperation with other team members to keep consistent network in terms of configuration and performance.
To evolve network strategies and topologies including multi-carriers and multi-RATs, aside to verify software releases spotting new/enhanced/modified functions/features/solutions to be assessed. Besides, auditing to maintain consistent network following agreed strategy, utilizing available resources, review compliance and ensure effectiveness in network operations, including but not limited to planning parameters, neighbors, license, and hardware configuration. Furthermore, utilization and capacity studies based on HW capabilities against network capacity status with proper buffer for traffic forecast; in order to allocate bottleneck in accessibility and throughput KPIs according to coverage and quality requirements
Following up with the customer on the tickets opened, needed support, meetings & escalation
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Previous experience as area owner, handling daily activities like KPIs monitoring and worst cells troubleshooting
- Parameters trials proposal and assessment and new SW features evaluation
- Various audits including parameters, neighbors, license and HW configurations and mapping
- Propose optimization actions (physical/soft actions) based on field radio measurements analysis as well as system counters
- Utilization and capacity studies including interfaces and hardware capabilities, radio resources and signaling channels to manage network capacity
- Multi-carrier strategy and multi-RAT interoperability for both CS and PS services
- Customer complaint handling and special events preparations
- Be always up to date with latest technologies & SW releases
Job Requirements
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- Education: BSC in Electrical Engineering majoring in Communication and Electronic Engineering
- Work Experience: Minimum of 5+ Years’ Experience in Radio Planning & Optimization.
- PC Knowledge: MS Office Package, Internet Package & TEMS. Radio Planning Tools are an advantage.
- Technical skills: Fully aware of the different Radio Technologies (2G, 3G, 4G & 5G).
- Special requirements: Excellent communication skills, good presentation skills and Leadership skills.
- Multi-vendor experience is a big plus
- Automation & programming skills are a plus
- High B2/C1 German language proficiency is a must
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Strong Knowledge and Experience in Radio Optimization using system KPIs, field KPIs, crowd-sourcing data as well as traces
- Strong experience in Radio Optimization work package like: Vendor SWAP, Capacity management, traffic steering, features trials…….
- Strong analysis and reporting skills.
- Service management and Vendor management experience
Key performance indicators:
1.Well defined guidelines for the existing radio access technologies as well as any new one should be usually in place for smooth operational deployment
2. Strong optimization and monitoring tools that ensure the best control over all the radio access nodes as well as the best customer experience should be usually in place.
