Job Description
- Interprets physician diet orders and modifies diet according to diet patterns and patient preferences.
- Interviews patients assigned and document all related information on the appropriate nutrition documentation forms.
- Provides substitutions if patient is unable to eat the meal provided, in accordance with diet restrictions.
- Completes daily calorie counts when ordered or initiated.
- Completes a nutritional assessment on patients receiving a tube feeding or parenteral nutrition.
- Completes a nutritional assessment on patients in ICU and Bone Marrow, Kidney, & Liver transplantation units.
- Reports information about diets to other members of the Food & Beverage department.
- Develop meal plans on daily basis, taking both cost and patients' preferences into account.
- Implements appropriate policies and procedures to achieve the Hospital’s goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, Quality & Performance Improvement.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor degree in dietetics, nutrition and/or related area is required.
