Job Description
The Homeroom Teacher is responsible for overseeing the academic, social, and emotional development of students in a designated class. The role includes delivering core curriculum subjects, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and serving as the primary point of contact between the school and the students' families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects (e.g., English, Math, Science, Social Studies).
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes student well-being and academic achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and reporting to parents/guardians.
- Serve as the primary contact for students in the homeroom regarding academic or personal issues.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians through conferences, emails, and school reports.
- Collaborate with subject teachers, support staff, and administration to support student needs.
- Maintain classroom discipline and enforce school rules and policies.
- Organize homeroom activities, field trips, and special projects that build community and character.
- Support students in goal setting and personal development.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject area (Master’s preferred).
- Valid teaching certification or licensure.
- Prior teaching experience at the appropriate grade level is preferred.
