Job Description
- Analyzing and reporting on financial performance, developing annual/quarter financial plans and projections for the city.
- Directing financial planning and strategy, to optimize the city's financial performance and strategic position.
- Managing the preparation of, providing, and giving a reasonably accurate picture of the City’s financial position at any time.
- Managing/Reviewing and recording the daily receipt, expenditure, and revenue transactions.
- Managing/Reviewing the research grants/projects accounts in responding to the grant /project agent requirements and other financial matters.
- Managing the preparation of the City’s cash position at any time.
- Directing the city cash flow in both short-term and long-term investments, to maximize the city's financial position.
- Overseeing audit and tax functions.
- Developing and implementing accounting policies.
- Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets.
- Ensure corporate budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed/Review departmental budgets
- Assessing, managing, and minimizing risk.
- Analyzing complex financial data.
- Managing internal controls.
- Form a close working relationship with the Executive President and other Senior Executives and Non-Executives.
- Take overall control of the city's accounting function.
- Ensure that city financial systems are robust, and compliant and support current activities and future growth.
- Lead and develop finance teams.
- Work with senior teams to grow the business, formulating strategies and plans.
- Take ultimate responsibility for the city's cash management policies.
- Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.
- Manage city policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals, and acquisitions, as appropriate.
- Conduct analysis of financial risks and benefits of business initiatives.
Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in all accounting activities with at least 7 years in a managerial and executive capacity. preferable a university/education industry background.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Commerce with a major in accounting.
A master's degree in accounting is a must Or CMA is an equivalent
A doctorate degree is a plus
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Excellent knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards and tax laws.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all accounting procedures and terminology.
- Excellent knowledge of SAP system.
- Skills to develop the business of the City by keeping regular interaction with respective bodies.
- Excellent coordination skills to deal with directors/ managers /staff etc.
- Excellent coordination skills to deal with banks.
