Job Description
Job Summary:
- Finishing Engineer is responsible for all site finishing work (interior/ façade) and the quality of the finished units. The job incumbent is expected to ensure the quality of the finishing work and applying the right specs. He will also provide a technical guidance to the subcontractor’s staff and monitor their performance and be inspected by the consultant.
Job Duties
- Review Finishing shop drawings and ensure projects specs before execution
- Responsible for all finishing activities such as block work & plastering, false ceiling, gypsum walls and painting, tiling, flooring and landscaping.
- Monitor subcontractor’s staff performance to ensure high quality finishing and handle subcontractor issues and relationship between activities.
- Coordination with vendors for Finishing Activities and double check the specs/ quality of all materials/ tools received on site and submit a report with their condition and defects.
- Provide information pertaining to completed/ pending Finishing work to issue subcontractor’s invoices
- Provide daily Finishing work progress report
- Conduct quality checks for ongoing finishing work
- Arrange any Finishing updates or modifications with the Technical Office
- Review the shop drawings to be ready for submission to the consultant
- Check submittals for all finishing materials for approval
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Architectural is preferred
- 6-12 years of relevant experience
- Background in big scale projects is a must
Language Skills
- Good command of English: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Computer Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/ 3D
- Excellent with Photoshop and Revit is preferred
- Familiar with Sketch-up and 3D max
Technical Skills:
- Experience with commercial programs such as sketch-up, 3D max. and CAD skills.
- Familiarity with quantity surveying
Non-technical Skills:
- extremely organized
- strong communication and project management skills
- Strategic planning – the primary job of planning engineers is determining the necessary path for a project to get completed on time
- Teamwork – planning engineers interact effectively with cross-functional team members and external stakeholders at various levels of responsibility
