Job Description

  • Manage the export process from start to finish (Operation. documentation, arrangement aspects) 
  • Use the most appropriate method of communication when the first point of contact being for all stakeholders.
  • Obtain all necessary information to ensure correct measures are in place and customer needs are met;
  • Ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments.
  • Provide transport companies with the relevant information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Ensure correct documentation is on file and act accordingly as set out in the instructions., ensuring compliance with all export regulations and laws
  • Any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders/ shipping lines/Clearing agents, to avoid any delays and reduce conflicts.
  • Manages activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
  • Ensuring that all necessary documents are complete for each shipment, including customs forms, insurance certificates, and bills of lading.
  • Coordinating with consignees to ensure that all of their needs are met throughout the shipping process.
  • Communicating with carriers / Clearing Agents / external supplier to arrange pickup and delivery of goods, including arranging for trucks, ships to transport goods.
  • Coordinating with customs brokers to ensure that all legal requirements are met.
  • Preparing reports on shipments and transactions to keep management informed of progress.
  • Communicating with vendors to ensure that all shipments are picked up or delivered on time.
  • Ensure compliance with all export regulations and laws.

Job Requirements

  • Fluent English spoken & written.
  • Have experience in shipping & Export clearance formalities for Garments / Furniture / Household declarations , knowledge of international trade and shipping practice
  • Be a proficient computer user including the full Microsoft Office package.
  • Be able to work in a busy environment, effectively prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in export customer service required.
  • Experienced in coordinating for shipments, quoting and negotiating rates, handling bookings, document preparation, researching and resolving freight discrepancies and customer complaints, corresponding with overseas offices, agents and consignees, and closing files when shipments are completed.
  • Strong data entry skills and being keen to details are required.
