Job Description
Director of Engineering:
- Ensuring that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformity with the organization’s established policies and objectives.
- Coordinate and direct projects Design management, Construction supervision Engineering Contracts & procurement and Cost control/ planning for the company projects, making sure that the plans are followed-up in details so as to accomplish the desired objectives.
Main roles and responsibilities:
- Deliberate with top management, production, and marketing staff on the possible requirements
and procedures for a project - Organize and manage projects, making detailed plans that work towards the fulfillment of a set
objective - Examine technology, organizational resources and the demands of the market in order to plan
or give procedures for projects which are practicable or possible - Manage the installation, testing, commissioning, and repair of facilities and equipment, making sure they are executed by the personnel responsible
- Coordinate with technical external consultants the design and construction supervision for the projects.
- Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate employees in their workstation
- Supervise the development and maintenance of staff abilities and suitability in the organization
- Direct the negotiation of research contracts and also prepare the company’s budget, bids, and
contracts - Set scientific and technical goals in the confines of the organization with the aid of management
- Consult or negotiate with clients to make arrangements of resources required for a project
- Setup schemes or designs, and also elaborate reports and results to clients
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the organization
- Administer highway planning, construction, and maintenance
- Perform administrative functions such as evaluating and writing reports, approving expenditures concerning projects.
- Develop implementation plans for projects and stages of implementation and follow-up
between different departments such as management of design and technical management and
implementation - Follow up with the design department to ensure completion of shop drawings.
- Follow up on technical drawings and detailed drawings to be sent to site accordingly.
- Ensure full compliance with civil, architectural and electro-mechanical designs.
- Set meetings with consultants and contractors to solve any obstacles
- Supervision and guidance to the Department of Planning and follow-up to the development of schedules and time plans for projects.
- Conduct periodic meetings with the director of each project to solve problems related to his site
separately. - Review the weekly report from planning department and compare it with the current situation.
- Handle other tasks related to scope of work.
- Participate in new projects’ feasibility studies prior to land acquisition

- Experience in Design, Construction, Engineering contracts &procurement and Cost control planning.
- Experience in Industrial developers to be well aware of the owner side.
- PMP & PRMG certified.
- Experience in managing engineering team from different disciplines(Building construction, Infrastructure and roads and electro mechanical works.
- Experience in similar position is necessary.
- Architecture/ or Civil Background.
- Experience needed 15- 20 years.
