Job Description
- Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing
- Following a script, screenplay, or outline
- Inputting sound to enhance footage, which may include selecting music and writing voice-overs
- Inputting graphics to enhance footage
- Digitally splicing film and video and synchronizing them into one rough cut file
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency. Improving and correcting lighting, coloring, and faulty footage
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in film editing, film studies, cinematography or related field
- Professional mastery of video and audio editing software and programs
- Ability to multitask and work toward several milestones on various projects simultaneously
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor minimum 1 year
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Light works, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
- Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity
- Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation
- Ability to collaborate well with other creative professionals to supply clients with top-notch finalized products
- Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing
- Creative mind and storytelling skills
