Job Description
We are looking to hire a DevOps Team Leader to join us in our mission of educating the world. The successful candidate shall be responsible for developing and leading the DevOps Team and their relation with other teams as well as leading different projects, processes, and enabling optimal performance of the business’s sites/software.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and guiding all activities of the DevOps Team
- Leading the design, build, and operational management of highly secure and scalable sites/software for the business, and working tirelessly to guarantee the reduction or removal of bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the DevOps department and engineering department as a whole
- Promoting, documenting, and implementing systems infrastructure best practices, and building tools that allow the department to develop and deploy impeccable sites/software
- Creating tools that leverage productivity amplifiers, such as code generators and schema repositories for scalable deployment
- Playing a mentorship role to key DevOps personnel and constantly promoting improvement of their professional skills
- Designing and building infrastructure for sites/software, ensuring the highest levels of security, and responding swiftly to any new and emerging vulnerabilities and security threats
- Creating tools and automated workflow capabilities to enable the business’s software engineering teams to test and promote code across the engineering department
- Building, configuring and maintaining the frameworks, tools, and systems that enable optimal performance of the business’s sites/software
- Leading the design and implementation of real-time monitoring systems of sites/software
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any field. Computer science, mathematics, or engineering is preferred
- 5 years of related experience in DevOps
- Experience in writing code and in automation, configuration, and application performance management tools
- Strong system-level troubleshooting skills and an ability to identify and resolve high-level scalability and performance issues
- Experience in supporting scalable architectures and vast experience in supporting network protocols, such as HTTP and DNS
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Linux, Git, Azure Application Insights, and Terraform
