Job Description

  • Make a broad contribution to school life and support school programs of health, fitness and hygiene education.     
  • Promote wide participation in, and a lifelong love of, sport and exercise among all pupils.
  • Teach PE, and, if necessary, other subjects commensurate with your expertise.
  • Supervising practical PE lessons, including both indoor & outdoor classes.
  • Evaluating the performance of pupils throughout the school year.
  • Develop, maintain and stimulate pupil’s curiosity, interest and enjoyment in PE.
  • Writing schemes of work / syllabuses and maintaining documentation.
  • Provide cover for colleagues if/when required and complete supervision duties.
  • Share the responsibility for the planning, teaching and assessments of the subjects to which they have been assigned at Repton Cairo.
  • Be required to carry out other such duties as the Head may reasonably direct from time to time. 
  • Display the highest standards of professionalism in their teaching and in their relationships with their colleagues and the wider School community.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or equivalent.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in same position.
  • Previous experience in international schools is a must.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Have a clear vision / focus.
  • Resilient, adaptable & flexible.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with school procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teaching skills, able to successfully communicate the underpinning principles of the English National Curriculum with parents.
  • Excellent English is a must.
  • Experience of teaching PE across the age and ability range of Upper Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.
  • Ability to develop a stimulating and engaging classroom environment.
  • Ability to teach PE across all key stages in Junior School.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people that you are responsible for.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security
  • Basic knowledge of first aid.
  • Team Player.
